I am considering trying Rhodiola for low morning cortisol.

Anyone with any experience of using it who can give info re efficacy and dose etc?

I've taken it. I used to buy it from H&B when they sold their own brand of it. They no longer sell their own brand so I can't tell you what the dosage was, but I took the maximum it suggested on the bottle. It is one of those supplements that has been watered down tremendously as a result of EU interference. I haven't bought it from anywhere since H&B stopped selling their own.

I loved it. It made me feel more alert and more "with it". The effect was very subtle though. My husband tried it because I raved about it so much and he said he felt nothing at all.

I should also mention that I have high morning cortisol, not low.

If you have low morning cortisol, then you should not be using Rhodiola, as Rhodiola reduces cortisol. I have been using it for my high morning cortisol, along with zinc and ashwaghanda and it's been very effective. If you want to try and raise cortisol levels, try licorice root extract or adrenal cortex extract instead :-)

I find ashwaghanda and nutri adrenal have helped my low-all-the- time cortisol.

Caze, Rhodiola is an adaptagen. Have a look at the reply I wrote just five minutes ago on the subject of adaptogens.

Or, as Bluedaffodil says, it can do nothing at all. It certainly did nothing for me.

Thks Grey.

What is yr opinion of using CT3M to raise low morning cortisol.

I'm afraid I don't have an opinion as I have never tried it, nor even read the book. But I know it does help a lot of people.

Myself, I am on T3 only and I take the whole dose at night. That would appear to work for me.

I'm pretty certain that setting an alarm to ring at 4 am - or whatever - to take my T3 would be counterproductive. I absolutely hate being woken by anyone or anything and it puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day! lol I'm retired, so I can just Wake when I've slept enough. I'm Lucky that way!

Sorry my finger slipped on reply button before finishing reply or editing. I was trying to say that I am currently trying T3 only again using CTM3 but it is a nuisance.

I did try T3 only last yr and felt the best I have been fr a long time but I got worried about self medicating and stopped when I got up to 37.5 MCG daily. I became v tired and in retrospect I needed an incrse but bottled it, Went back on a T4/T3 combo and then back on T4 only but have felt so rubbish decided to have another go.

Early days and v tired at the mo as only on 12.5mcg but will increase tomorrow to 18.

Hope this works or I am up the creek without a paddle!

Well, if 18 doesn't work, try a bit more.

Also, I'm sure you know, but you need your iron and stuff tested and suppliment if necessary. Especially the B12. That needs to be right up the top of the range. But add to that magnesium and zinc, if you can. It can make you very il if magnesium is low. Same for zinc.
