Vitamin D3

Is Vitamid D3 the same as Vitamin D? Might sound a stupid question, sorry, but want to order correctly from the Nutri Centre.

D3 is the form of vitamin D that is usually recommended. It is what I take.

D2 used to be used quite a bit but there have been increasing questions over whether it is as good and safe as D3. Historically, D3 was more expensive than D2 but there really isn't very much in it these days.

(By the way, very definitely not a silly question.)

Thanks Rod, so does D3 do the same as D2 or is there a difference. Also is there a difference in what make you choose. My GP has recommended a 1,000 a day. Sheila
