I was self medicating with t3 purchased from Turkey then a endo I saw decided to prescribe t3 for me I was taking it for 8 days and noticed I was feeling tired and my mood was changing. Has any one tired both and found it was giving you a different effect ?

At the risk of insulting you by asking, are you taking the same dose? (So far as I can see, Tiromel is produced in 25mcg tablets whereas Mercury Pharma liothyronine is in 20mcg tablets.)

Hi helvella yes I'm taking the same amount 25mcg with the NHS t3 I just cut a tablet I to quarters to make it 25mcg

Emidjemal, I've noticed no difference in potency between Liothyronine and Tiromel other than the 5mcg difference in dose.

Clutter I've also noticed that my temperature is lower on the NHS t3

Emidjemal, how much Tiromel were you taking and how much Liothyronine are you taking?

Emidjemal, you've a deft hand if you're quartering those teensy Liothyronine :)

Let us know how your 8 day comparison goes.

What brand is your NHS T3?

I have received both Mercury and Paddock Labs T3 on NHS prescription and I found the Mercury tablets noticeably less effective.

Mr GP now specifies Paddock Labs on my prescription to Boots.

Hi yoursurname it doesn't sate what brand it is just comes in a bottle which the pharmacy at the hospital counted out

I found the Mercury tablets variable between different batches. Some are good, some not quite good and some awful.

The Greek T3 I've taken sometimes is slightly less potent but always the same strength so that was better.

Always problems with Mercury Pharma T3 and T4, People should just start to refuse MP products and ask GP's to specify a different brand.

I thought you could only get mercury pharma T3 on NHS prescription? Is there another option??

Parbrook profile image

Yes, I get Paddock Labs T3 on NHS prescription as already mentioned above.

The tablets are 5mcg and I take 2, twice per day.

Although Paddock Labs also make 10mcg and 20mcg tablets, they are not available in the UK.

I have never found any 10 or 20 microgram tablets from Paddock (nor any other USA company). Could you let us know how you found out about them, please?

Sorry, my mistake.

Should have been 25mcg and 50mcg.

perrigo.com/business/produc...

It does explain why Boots could not get 10 or 20mcg tablets ;-)

Hello Emidjemal. My partner bought me 10 boxes of Tiromel whilst out there last year. I took them and was ok. I have since been given NHS mercury pharma and feel terrible. I am doing a threat about it so luck out for my results which I just have got. I hate the fact that at the pharmacy they give you the tablets in a brown bottle, and I feel that they are so weak. I took the Mexican T3 and far superior, better than the Tiromel, but I think I will go back to Tiromel, my T3 reading has gone DOWN on NHS. I always wonder if it is some kind of placebo. Although I am on T4 also but no longer mercury pharma as I did not feel well on that also........ Go figure, which one to take????????????

marmaris in reply to Emidjemal

I agree I have mine ready, how many do you take Emidjemal as they are in 25mgs instead of NHS 20. Do you take T4 also?

Emidjemal profile image
Emidjemal in reply to marmaris

I stopped t4 about 3 months ago I'm on t3 only I take 25mcg 3 times a day but I'm thinking of reducing it a little as my temperature is up to normal sometimes over 37 c when I was on the NHS one my temperature dropped

marmaris profile image
marmaris in reply to Emidjemal

Do you split the 25mcg or do you mean you take 3 x 25mcgs daily?

Emidjemal profile image
Emidjemal in reply to marmaris

I'm taking 3x25mcg but if my temperature hose to hgh I split it with a pill cutter
