Mercury, dental amalgams and it's connections with B12, nutrients, thyroid and so many illnesses.

Don’t know if anyone will find this useful, but I’m currently reading a book called “Mercury Poisoning: The Undiagnosed Epidemic” by David Hammond.

The book discusses how mercury poisoning from many sources (not just from dental amalgams) effects everyone. Looking into my own symptoms, I’ve being trying to trace the problem back to it’s source. Starting with B12 and Vit D deficiency, working up to thyroid problems and I think (hopefully) ending up with issues with mercury. A lot of the information in the book resonates with me, and because of the insidious nature of how mercury poisoning works, it is often put down to many other illnesses and conditions.

I’m only about half way through it’s 342 pages (although I’m reading the kindle version), it’s proving very interesting reading. Stealing part of a review from Amazon (couldn’t have said it better myself); everything is clearly and simply explained, well-researched, and logical, with step-by-step explanations building up the picture of the extreme dangers of mercury and how the poisoning can take years, even decades, to show up. This includes case histories, quotes from and names of well-known mercury poisoning victims of the past, and some of the author's own story where relevant.

There are many, short, chapters covering all aspects about mercury. From its history, the increasingly exposure to it in our daily lives, the impact of dental amalgam fillings, symptoms of its poisoning, the many illnesses connected with it, it’s connection with the depletion of vitamins and minerals, how it effects the thyroid, how to get rid of it and much, much more. Hope someone else finds it as useful as I am currently, or even help to add or complete the puzzle of working out what causes our symptoms.

For reference I have no connection to the author, the book or anything connected with it, just trying to do my bit to maybe help others :)

That is very interesting, I shall get a copy, thank you.

I have oral cicatricial pemphigoid [aka mucous membrane pemphigoid] and I did ask my Dermatologist whether he thought it had anything to do with my mouth full of amalgam. He said he didn't know but it was an interesting question. I am on a never ending waiting list to see the Oral guys, so will ask them too.

That sounds interesting and will look out for that. I read 'the mouth body doctor' by Alison Adams, who was a British dentist.

I have been researching lots about mercury to,i am currently trying to arrange to get my fillings out ,when u see the symptoms that it causes it does cross over a lot of the same ad thyroid issues ,i just cant believe that they are allowed to put that poison in our mouths, especially when you see what procedures need taking when they remove them or dicard any amalgam left over from putting a filling in .The excess has got to go in biohazard waste. So they are allowed to put it in your mouth but not allowed to put it in the bin .Dentist when replacing amalgams are supposed to be kitted out with all sorts of stuff that would make you think they worked with open radiation.Another scandal

The most important thing is never tryand detox while you still have the source (amalgams)

Yes I have heard that because it can cause the mercury to move somewhere more dangerous.

Interesting video Londinium, thanks for posting that. You really can't the so called authorities can you? It's like years ago with the whole tobacco and smoking 'is good for you' issue. I'm sure I remember something about a drug or something given to pregnant women as well which was supposed to be good for the baby. Years later, oh look, it actually turns out to be harmful after all. Oops, sorry.

Whitenoise, I expect the new wonder drug Statins will prove to be detrimental in a decade or two as well.
