I had a bad cough for around four months and my doctor halved my doze of Lisinoprol from 20mg to 10mg and the cough went away withing days. When I had my blood pressure checked about six weeks later it was alright. This past ten days or so I have developed the same cough and wretching. Could it be the 10mg that I am still on.
Can you tell me anything about the drug Lisino... - Thyroid UK
Can you tell me anything about the drug Lisinoprol. I have been on this for high blood pressure for about three years.
I take Lisinopril, only 5mcg and I take a branded version not the generic. I have been on it for over 15 years If you are unlucky you can get they 'lisinopril cough' it is a well known side effect. I had one of those health talks with the pharmacist the other day and he asked if I had a cough - after all that time so maybe it doesn't matter how long you are on it.
I had a friend who had started on it and developed the cough and her doctor changed her to something else so there are other options.
Think if you read the patient information leaflet it mentions cough - plus if you Google 'lisinopril cough' and you will get tons of information about it.
Ask your doctor for something that doesn't make you cough.
I had the cough and ended up having to change medication because the cough itself became so debilitating. Clemmie
My doctor prescribed this but when I discovered it was made from snake venom I refused to take it!! I have heard many bad things about it since but the main problem seems to be that if your blood pressure rises it is because of the hypothyroid not anything else.
