Dizziness and headache ....

Hi everyone, I posted recently as to what to ask at doctor's appointment and got some really helpful advice, thank you. My doctor listened too and increased my Levo from 100mcg to 125 mcg for a month to see how I go. I've been taking the extra 25mcg for ten days now and yesterday started to feel really dizzy, have a headache and heart rate feels a bit high. Is this usual on increasing Levo or should I drop back to 100mcg?

If it were me, I think I'd drop back for a few days and see if that makes you feel better. If it does, perhaps try 100mcg/125mcg on alternate days. Alternatively, you could consider maybe dropping back to 100mcg and adding in one or two tablets of nutri thyroid instead. It's a weaker form of NDT and I take it. It suits me.

Thank you Rosetrees, I did wonder about taking it on alternate days. I shall investigate nutrithyroid too, where is the best place to get it? Also my nutritionist mentioned a product which helps thyroxine absorption, can't remember the name at the moment. I was convinced the extra dose would make such a difference, disappointed now!

Are your iron levels at optimum? Low iron made me feel very ill whenever I tried to increase dose. I then discovered I had been anaemic for years but no doctor ever mentioned it, as I was only just under the ref range.

Hi Hennerton, yes I think my levels are ok. I have to go for blood tests soon so will make sure it's checked. Thank you.
