I know body temps. are a thyroid issue but is there a solution. My usual temp. is 35.5-36.0 and I can live with that. It's more stable now I am T3 only.
The trouble was last week,my g.daughter was recovering from a throat infection. She was fine, just a bit of a cough. Three days later I went down with it. Not like most people, feeling ill. I just started to shiver and my teeth were chattering.I could barely make it up to bed.Wrapped in extra blankets it took three hours for my feet to get warm. By then I was starting to get hot,so hot that at midnight I was stood by the back door trying to cool down.I managed a few hours sleep and when I woke up I felt fine.
I know you have to sweat these things out but why the teeth chattering cold???

I was on a cruise in the med a few weeks back fighting off a cough, I failed but I woke in the night shivering so reached for my thermometer, 34.8, horrible isn't it. I put my fleece on and thankfully started to warm a little!
Hi Silverfox,Night shivers or day come to that are awful. 34.5-34.8 are the sort of temperatures I get during these episodes or during the winter. Any lower and I think it would be a hospital job.x
Yes I can very often be at 34.2 and I think .much lower and I will need to go to hospital. Would I be right what would they do if it was getting so low?
Often with a really high temperature you can feel freezing cold. This is quite common. It can sometimes help to cool yourself down even though you already feel freezing as this lowers the temperature and can stop the shivers
Just a thing you should know about fever. It can come (doesnt happen too often, but still) with the spasms of the arteries. The no1 sign of that can be bluish fingers, cold feet, bluish lips due to the decreased bloodflow. In that case smth like Drotaverin has to be taken in order to restore the bloodflow, only after the limbs get warmer it is allowed to lower the temp. if it is too high (over 38C). It is a pretty dangerous condition, more common for babies rather than adults, but still equally dangerous.
Found out about it not so long ago (about a year). I rarely have temp over 37.5C when beeing sick, but had 38.9C + cold hands&feet and later bluish nails. The temp. wouldn't go down and kept rising until I took No-Spa (Drotaverin) as was suggested by my good friend, who is a pediatritian. He said it might never happen again, but it is common for people with narrow veins and vegetative dysfunction caused by too much stress.
I was like that this morning! Was tucked up in a high TOG quilt with beads of sweat but temperature quite low. Never know what to do then-throw the covers off well no that doesn't sound right somehow.
