reply from downing street
Well done, at least your got a response. Pity the DoH wont take any notice of your email.
well if they take no notice this time maybe we all need to email again and keep emailing until they listen
Good luck. Tried this meself. Got some lengthy cr*p back from one Norman Lamb (I had written to Jane Ellison who was once foolish enough to show some sympathy for the plight of thyroid patients). Went on to the Royal College of Surgeons and got shorter cr*p back from them. It's like trying to scratch teflon. I don't know how we make them listen. Happy to hear about any ideas that don't involve standing/marching.
Well done ,maybe you are right we should all email again .Plan a date and put some examples and bullet points for those who are not so good with words , me being one ,Or incase the brain fog is in.
im crap at letters ect
just said was stared on life long treatment for hypothyroidism, had racing heart, palps shortness of breath, taken off meds, accused by a dr of making things up to get medication, useless end diagnosing me as an overweight anxious depressant ect and that drs needed to test more than TSH and that thyroxine wasnt the only treatment available
allso went on to say because of the lack of knowledge of my dr and endo i had to resort to self medicating
I also received a response when I pointed out the difference in the level of care that my husband who has type 2 diabetes and myself who is hypothyroidic received on the NHS. Considering they are both treated by endos, diabetics are way up on their radar whilst thyroid patients are not. I will now follow up Downing Street's (!) suggestions as to who next to contact in the NHS. I suggest it is well worth contacting Downing Street as there is power in numbers.
Do you have an contact email address at all or should it be done through the post
Maybe a letter to one person with copies to a few others. Have just written one to Simon Stevens, CEO of NHS (I think). Don't know who to send copies to though - any suggestions? Janet.
I had this standard reply too and then a further one saying that they were sorry I was unhappy with the level of treatment I'd received but the guidelines state that hypothyroidism be treated with thyroxine and by blood test results rather than symptoms. Aaaargh!!! Let's try again!!
just one of my weird thoughts ....... what would happen if No:10 received a thousand e.mails [ or letters ] on the same problem ----- methinks that they would put == at least == a small size 12 boot in the direction of the relevant posterior so that it will/may/might stop the clogging up of their system ......that way maybe it WILL be looked into at the very least .......... if there is 1 thing I have learnt its that in all political corridors there are always ways & means to get to the end result ......alan xx
I also rec. email from prime ministers office. Waste of time.
