Hi , just a follow up from my unsuccessful consultation with a private Endo.If anyone had read my outcome from my consultation you know I was very sad about it. He has written to my Doctor stating my thyroid was ok and it was anxiety. Obviously I have severe anxiety which has limited my life for 4months now so I had to email a reply to him. I told him I was unhappy he had written to my GP stating it was just anxiety and that all my levels were in range. I made sure he knew I wasn't happy about that outcome but I understand that anxiety is playing a big role in all of this but I was looking for help, not just for anxiety but for general poor health.
Anyway, I've had a reply from his secretary saying he still thought my thyroid test was fine but if I wanted to try T3 he would write me a prescription!!!!
Does he feel guilty that I spent £350 on two phone chats with him? I bloody hope so.
Now I need to find a chemist who can do my prescription once it comes through. I'm still going to wait a while for vitamins to kick in and get another thyroid test done in the next couple of weeks. Not sure of the cost of T3 from a private prescription but I'm sure I will find that out.
I know it's not an instant cure for chronic anxiety which basically is ruining my life but it might just improve my health a bit in order to fight back.!

That's good to know thankyou. I don't know what he will prescribe but I darent ask him for any specific brand in case he gets funny with me. I'm not sure if he is posting a prescription or how this all works but I will wait for a further reply from him because I said yes I wanted to try it. I've checked on here for places to send my prescription. Lots to choose from on the list.
Either wait and see what he sends….and then get it changed if not correct
Or
Email and request you would like 20mcg dose tablets and prescription x 100 tablets as this is by far most economically option
You might choose to add, that this what is normally prescribed for the many hundreds of U.K. patients currently forced to get thyroid treatment privately
Well, its a result in a way lol. Fingers crossed for you and really hoping it's the start of better health and happiness. Good for you for telling that Endo you were disappointed and standing up for yourself.
Well I had nothing to lose. It's not like me to ever complain but laying here week after week I've got to sort my self out instead of wallowing in anxiety! I'm pleased I did it though 🙂
Can’t believe what I’m reading. What a bizarre but happy turn of events. Did he say what dose or just he’d prescribe?
Also, blimming good for you! Not going to be easy moving on from an initial bad start but worth working at if he is actually going to prescribe. Doctors are far too blinded by anxiety as a symptom and this needs to change!
I used to see an Endo privately but any prescription or test he ordered was given to me via NHS. I only paid for the consultation. It may be worth asking his office if they can issue you a standard green NHS script / which you can get fulfilled at any chemist . There is nothing to stop him agreeing to this.
Nothing to lose in asking the question ?
Good luck - and I’m sorry for your shocking treatment. I see an NHS Endo who prescribes T3 now but GP surgery still won’t prescribe it for me .
