Hi Emidjemal, 2 weeks isn't nearly enough to feel real improvement. Although T3 can bring some rapid improvement in relieving brain fog, cognition and mood it takes considerably longer to feel improvement at a cellular level in your body, perhaps up to 3 months.

Have a repeat thyroid function test in another four weeks and avoid raising either of your meds before then.

I was wondering why my temperature has dropped so low I thought it would have gone up a little

I don't think two weeks is long enough to feel much benefit. Was your temp higher two weeks ago?

Yes today it dropped really low

I'm sorry, Emidjemal, I really don't know what to suggest other than give it more time.

Hello Emidjemal,

Have any of your other symptoms changed, is your pulse high/low?

Best wishes

My pulse has always been high for some reason

In that case have you had your Adrenals tested (through Genovia Logistics) Adrenal fatique can cause a higher pulse rate and effect the uptake of the Thyroid meds. A pulse well into the nineties can mean over medicated or the medication not going in properly.

Best wishes

I always found that as well, If undermedicated or over my pulse would rise. I did read that food intolerances can cause high pulse rates.

Good luck

i would assess bp, pulse, in addition to temps but this dose may be far too low for you but I cant advise on how to increase. I do however know that some people do well with much higher doses. There is a facebook page for those using T3 that you may wish to be a part of if you are not already. Recovering with T3 and For Thyroid patients only. It is also possible that you need to have your adrenals checked along with ferretin, B12 and D as these are needed for T3 to work properly.

Just before starting t3 my levo was reduced and my bp was high was put on bp tablets I'm self medicating t3 my iron and b12 is ok according to my doc but I'm supplementing them any way and to have cortisol checked needs money

Yes, cortisol is expensive but ZRT labs is a bit more reasonable. What is your ferretin...it should be between 70-90. Is D3 okay too

Emidjemal in reply tosuzannai

Hi my ferritin is 36 I haven't had a d3 I had a serum calcium which was 2.36 ranges 2.15-2.61

Sometimes like in my case low temperatures are caused by low Progesterone... I was on NDT for 2 years and it never did raise my temps consistently till I started progesterone therapy. Now I don't even need thyroid pills. I also noticed my temps dropped when I had any infection, such as yeast or a cold which means low adrenals. Adding sea salt to my morning oj fixes this for me.

Good lick with the endocrinologist... The two I saw Didn'teven suggest getting or want to test my hormones other than tsh. I had to go to a private Dr and pay for adequate treatment... Progesterone has given mey life back. At first I self treated with progesterone cream that I ordered online from the USA but I was following directions on the tube and it wasn't nearly enough. Now I use prometrium nightly and also use some custom compounded cream. I can't stress enough that you use bioidentical hormones. Good luck in your quest to get well.
