I have severe upper respiratory allergies, and right now the pollen is making me miserable. I take my thyroxine immediately upon arising and the rest of my morning medicines and supplements with breakfast after arriving at work (about 90 minutes later). Soon after leaving the house, I start coughing. Can I take an antihistamine and/or decongestant (pseudoepinephrine) with my thyroxine?

Is it all right to take allergy medicine with levothyroxine?

I assume taking an anti-histamine is o.k. but this is a previous link.

As regards your other supplements, usually it is advised to take them 4 hours apart from levothyroxine, except iron which I believe should have a longer gap. Some things can interfere with the uptake of levo.
Thank you for the link. I take calcium citrate and my multivitamin (which contains iron) later in the day, as I know they can interfere with T4 absorption. I take so many supplements that I have to take them 3X daily. I suppose I could take them as I do on weekends, when I get up to the alarm clock, take my T4, then go back to bed and sleep until (at least) noon: breakfast supps at lunch, dinner supps at dinner and lunch supps at bedtime.
I don't know the answer, but I take my levo at night and don't eat anything 2 hrs before bedtime so as not to interfere with uptake. Perhaps you could try this. I also sleep much better as a result!
I did read on another post recently that taking decongestants (such as Sudafed) is not compatible with being on thyroxine as some of the constituent ingredients interfere with its absorption.
I have severe pollen allergy and take a daily antihistamine a few hours either before or after thyroid meds and haven't had a problem. I try to take anti histamine at night and thyroid meds in the morning to avoid a problem
