A private Doctor gave me DHEA.......

A few months ago I saw a private Doctor. I had private tests done before seeing him so I knew that my DHEA and Cortisol were low. He told me, in no uncertain terms, that taking Cortisol would 'mess' me up.

I knew from previous reading that DHEA works slowly. I started to notice improvements to my skin and hair. My blood pressure and pulse improved sometimes but it was very erratic. I had a few active days then crashed for about 2 weeks. I then remembered that I had read that some people need to take extra T3 when they are more active. I have been experimenting. Recently I have had a very active period. One day I really felt like my 'old self'.

I am still purchasing DHEA from the private Doctor but I am finding it rather expensive. I think I am taking a micronized/ microcrystaline version. Very little is written on the container. PLEASE PRIVATE MESSAGE ME IF YOU KNOW OF ANY GOOD PRODUCTS OR SUPPLIERS.

I searched 'DHEA' on this site. It seems that there is a difference of opinion on the legality of purchasing and possessing DHEA. I have done my own research. It seems it is legal to buy DHEA in the form of a medical product when it is for exclusively for your own use. There are a few requirements that seem pretty easy. For example records need to be kept and it must be disposed of by a qualified person. I have been looking at the original legislation and it states there are no subsequent updates.

I will publish the links on a separate post.

I used to get it from the US - lifelink or nutricology (can get in UK)

I bought mine from healthmonthly.co.uk/swanson... Sublingual DHEA and it worked brilliantly. I used to cut the tablets so I was taking 3mg each morning as otherwise, I couldn't sleep. Interestingly I'd have to get to about 75mg before it started to work, so I'd take higher doses at the beginning and then cut down to 3mg :)

And don't let the price put you off, they are cheap but that doesn't mean they are poor quality and don't work!

If you follow that link you end up on a page which says:

Of course, many of our suppliers and our own warehouses are located outside of the EU so we strongly recommend you check the relevant import duty costs here: dutycalculator.com or here: ups.com/importexport

Plus, you must check the laws and regulations of your country for the licencing, labelling and any other legal issues for import or resale.

So that company might not be supplying from within the UK.
