Tests have baffled me.... They're so long winded. TSH still high.

Blue Horizon tests came back. TSH has dropped from 12.8 to 8.81 two months between tests. Both taken 8am. I've since tapered off Sertraline. So this may explain the drop. As for t3, tt4,ft4 I think they're saying its all ok? T3: 5.8 pmo/L 3.1-6.8 TT4: 86 nmo1/L Free Thyroxine (FT4?) : 13.7 pmo1/L 12.0-22.0. Thyro Antibody 15.3 IU/mL. Perox Antibody 11.5 IU/mL 0.34. Lordy lord! Does anyone know what these might mean... Need a bit of knowledge before taking them along to my ignorant GP lol

Your TSH is still far too high and needs medication which accounts for your low FT4. Total T4 isn't relevant as it is bound hormone and unbound hormone FT4 and FT3 is more relevent.

Your FT3 is nicely positioned in the upper 75% of range which I find surprising in view of your elevated TSH and low FT4.

I haven't seen antibodies expressed in that manner and don't understand it. Usually a number is given ie 100 with a ref <34. I s there anything like that on your report?

Ok, you don't have autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's) but you are overtly hypothyroid. If your GP still won't treat you I strongly advise you change GP. If you're made to wait until your TSH is >10 your FT4 is going to drop further and it will reduce your inexplicably currently good FT3.

What is a normal range for ft4?

The ref range varies across the UK. Your lab range for FT4 is 12.0-22.0. Ideally your FT4 would be in the top 75% ie >17.5.
