Hypothyroidism. Sore throat, back ache and irregular bleeding.

I keep getting a sore throat, it comes for about 5 days then goes for a few days then comes back. Also had a backache for weeks and bleeding and spottig between periods. Been on levo for nearly a month, are these symptoms normal and will they go with time and meds? X

It can take a while to feel the benefits of thyroxine and people often feel worse before they feel better but I would have expected improvement in a month. How much Levothyroxine are you taking and do you have the results of your last thyroid test with lab ref ranges?

You should have a repeat thyroid function test 6/8 weeks after starting Levo to check whether your dose needs adjustment.

I didn't get any kind of numbers doc just said I have an underactive thyroid. 50mg once a day. I'm not due another test till like 5 months. Do my symptoms not sound normal then. I have had more energy so slight improvement

I was taking thyroxine for about a year with no problem, now when I take it I get a terrible backache plus headaches, making it unbearable and worse than not taking it. So dont be quick to believe it when people say that once it has got into your system the side effects go.
