Has anyone had any experience of B12 patches. Are they better than taking the B12 Tabs. I'm supplementing at the moment with solgar Methylcobalamin 1000 ug I take one each day dissolve under tongue my B12 was 338 so I'm just wondering should I be taking more than one a day or has anyone found the patches to be better.

B12 patches
I've been taking methyl daily and using the patches once a week too. I think Marz uses them too. Not had another test yet so can't really comment on the success, but I believe absorption is better through the skin.
Have you felt any better using both has your energy levels improved thanks
And I take more than one a day too. You can't overdose so anything to help get it up quicker
Thanks wish I could try NDT but over here it's impossible to get sorted. I'm battling to have the proper bloods done can you imagine if I tried to get NDT I'm going to keep pushing and if I can't get my doc to do what I want then I may go elsewhere. Wouldn't mind but it cost 50 euro a visit it's not as if he's doing his job for nothing
Yes I was using B12 patches from the beginning of last December. Why - well the Hi-Strength ones do contain other B vitamins and Folic Acid which you do need together...so thought it was - job done.
hampster1 - who knows a great deal about B12 deficiency and PA did mention to me that she had not found the patches helpful. I think it depends on the seriousness of your problem too. Well about two weeks ago I had a funny turn - around 9.30 pm. Don't mean to sound dramatic but thought I was having a stroke - huge pressure in the head. Unable to move my head and felt very sick. Tried to go to bed but couldn't lay down. Sat still in the chair until 1am - and went to bed - slept sitting up for about 4 hours. The next two days were very strange and cancelled everything. On Saturday morning I awoke with inspiration - could it be B12 ? We went to a nearby village and bought B12 ampoules and syringes - then off to our local 24 hour clinic and had the injection. first one ever ! Have had one almost every day since and am beginning to feel stronger. Thank goodness we live in Crete....
I managed to do a reading at a friends funeral that afternoon - but still felt unable to stand easily. About 5 hours after the injection I felt an improvement. I must point out that my situation is different from others as I do not have a Terminal Ileum due to extensive surgery - where the B12 is absorbed. I also have a spinal problem which can make me feel slightly unbalanced from time to time.
B12 deficiency is a serious condition and needs to be more recognised by GP's.

Also there is a good book written by Martyn Hooper - Pernicious Anaemia The Forgotten Illness and B12 Deficiency....very cheap on Amazon - Kindle version....
I would suggest taking 1000mcg x 2 chewable under the tongue.
The range in Japan is 500-1300 - so something for your GP to digest.
Good luck with raising your levels....
