Hi all, I've just had my latest thyroid results and I'm seeing the endo/pathologist next Tuesday. I think I know what I want to say/ask for but would welcome some knowledgeable feedback.

I've had 3 full profiles recently. Results are as follows:

5/11/13 TSH 0.8 (0.27-4.2); FT3 3.2 (3.1-6.8); FT4 22.3 (12-22) (At that point I was taking 75mcg T4/day)

28/1/14 TSH 0.5; FT3 3.0; FT4 22.6 (still on 75mcg T4/day - then changed to 50mcg T4 and 10mcg T3)

25/3/14 TSH 0.5; FT3 2.9; FT4 14.6

So both FT4 and FT3 have been falling since T3 introduced. I have been experiencing considerably more pain and fatigue (funny, that!).

I'm assuming doc will want to adjust dosages upwards. But to what? I'm thinking, working on a basis of 5:1 T4:T3, that maybe 100 T4/20 T3 would be about right. But what does the team think?

Many thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi there,

I have been looking at your posted results and some of them look low to me.

I am not experienced,so can only go by my own readings, but my Endo judged that I might be a case for T3 when my FT4 came back at 14.9 but FT3 had not been done.

However, when reordered the FT3 came back at 4.1 which was at the low end of range.

I was then prescribed 75 mcgs Levo( reduced from 100 ) and added 10mcgs T3.

I have to stay it is starting to improve things for me and the muscle aches are not so painful.

A bit tired tonight, but we've been entertaining today which we haven't done for some months.must state this is only my third day of T3 so it's early days yet.

I wonder if you needed a bit more T4 say 75mcgs and then if all goes well to increase it later. 50 doesn't seem enough to me.Your FT3 at 2.9 seems very low.Perhaps someone with more experience will confirm things for you.

I hope you get sorted.....probably just a few adjustments needed, but good to have the chance to see if T3 will work for you.Good Luck.
