Hi Shaws, thanks for replies, seems to be a bit of a "mystery" as to what amount or type of thyroxin (T4 etc.)is in THYRO-GOLD.. Clicking on to the contact page of the website opens outside of protected mode so I'm not brave enough to follow that. On the container says to be taken on empty stomach as does levo. instructions, the only time I have an "empty" stomach is in the middle of the night when I waken for a loo visit. As THYRO-GOLD seems also to have hormones of some sort have decided to take with levo. Only been a few days on both so too soon to tell if it matters! Testimonials and Q&A reassuring

Thyro-Gold is much the same as Armour except it is from NZ pasture-fed cows instead of from pigs. I would have thought it would defeat the purpose in taking it with Levo, most people who take Armour or Thyro-Gold do so because they don't get on with Levo. There is a possibility that you may be overdosed if you take bith, unless you are taking only a very small amount of either.

Do not be fooled by the fact that it can be bought without prescription, it is a full-strength thyroid hormone replacement product, it is described as a 'food supplement' for the express purpose of enabling those whose doctors refuse to prescribe natural desiccated thyroid, to buy it.

I don't know what you mean by 'outside of protected mode' - I actually sent an email to Tammy Lowe (Dr Lowe's widow) and she was very helpful. At the time I had heart issues so she advised me not to buy it. I have since got much better on T3 only so unless something changes I will probably not go to TG. But she assured me that it is an alternative to Armour.

Hi marram, thanks. I understand what you mean about THYRO- GOLD being same a s ARMOUR etc. but nowhere can I find exactly what amount of thyroxin is in it .. Shaws suggested that 50mgs of THYRO-GOLD = 1.25 grains of ARMOUR but don't know how the info. was obtained . Re. "outside of protected mode", when I click on to the Email address for Tammy Lowe that i got from the THRO- GOLD webpage this is what appears and there are details of a wizard that can lead me to the address but not too happy with doing this. Perhaps you would be kind enough to give me the email you have for Tammy?. I am taking 25mcgs of levo so low doze, and thought I would add in 150mgs of TG, not really sure why - just curious I suppose!, wanted to see what would happen (Nothing yet!!!)

Thanks but I have tried this email but computer just wont send!!. Never mind I have discovered that the forskolin in THYRO-GOLD has a similar action to T3 and T3 just doesn't suit me

I have clicked on the link Iabove and see that you have to use either google or yahoo. A person on yesterday's post has contacted Tammy and got a response.

I note what you say about T3 and I just wondered as it is a synthetic hormone and forskolin is from a plant whether that would make a difference to you.

Hi shaws, thanks for reply. Interesting point about forskolin - hadn't thought about that but the T3 I took was in NDT which I presume natural. However thinking on NDT animal and not plant so maybe again a difference

Thanks also for pointing out the link to Tammy I use Internet explorer but as my server is yahoo thought it should work (not very clever on computer) Every time I try a notice comes up saying "server closed connection " Don't think I'll bother anymore Maybe as THYRO-GOLD natural and levo. synthetic not a good mix!
