Hello

I can't say he is a top thyroid specialist, he is a homeopath, but he is helping me! Read my recent post "Yipee - Hooray" from Monday just gone and if you want his name PM me!

Good Luck x

I don't know much as the song says, but Endos are not always good specialists for thyroid. A lot seem to concentrate on diabetes, pituitary etc. Try and google endocrine who specialise in thyroid. I was sent to endocrine and in fairness they tested pituitary and calcium vit d, menopause, but they were not convinced I had a thyroid problem because tests were 'normal'. That of course doesn't mean they can't help you. Otherwise it's a case of looking at alternatives, maybe going to a private doctor on list for Thyroid UK. Sorry couldn't be more helpful.

Is he really good Hellen? I live near Leicester and I could do with a good Endocrinologist locally. His Spire page says that his main interest is diabetes, he wrote books about diabetes and researched diabetes.. I am not sure what to think??Please PM with your experience. Many thanks.

I was referred to him 18th months ago and paid privately to see him at the Spire and then transferred to the NHS and now see him at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. He prescribed combination therapy and I now take 50mcg thyroxine and 20 mcg liothyronine per day. I would definitely recommend him.

Hey

I've got one, in London, German endo, left the NHS to focus on private work. Cost you £250, he's a talented diagnostician. You might have to do a bit of fine tuning on replacement once you know what's wrong as as far as I know, he still doesn't prescribe NDT but he saved my life and diagnosed me with Graves, Hashis, Hashitoxicosis and ThyCa when two idiot endos has nearly killed me. PM me if you want his details.
