Mary Shomon: You are a proponent of coconut oil for thyroid patients. Can you explain why?

Thank you for the reply, excellent arcticle.
I will just mention that the Coconut Oil should be Virgin. .Some people don't like the taste but you can use it as a substitute for other oils in cooking or in a hot drink. It is solid when you buy it, like lard, but it dissolves easily enough. You're best to start off with a low dose. An extract
Latterly, I have been feeling much better and I put this down, in part, to my use of coconut oil as a spread on my bread. My most recent set of bloods has been very good, plus I don’t feel so tired and hazy now. I buy the coconut oil from the internet as most shops don’t seem to stock it. It’s important to buy virgin coconut oil and the benefits are myriad - including helping my thyroid.

I have bought mine in Holland and Barratt when it was buy 1 and get another for a penny.
Hope it's OK for me to recommend an over-the-counter product here (if not, apologies to the mods – please delete!) I really like the Essence of Eden brand essenceofeden.co.uk/ – great, fresh-tasting oil and friendly service if you have any questions. Not the cheapest, but the quality makes it worth it, and you can save a few quid by buying in bulk. I don't have any affiliations with the brand, I'm just a happy customer. I'll admit I've been a bit inconsistent with usage, and I need to give it another shot now that I'm (hopefully) on the way to finding my optimal NDT dose, but I've certainly had no adverse effects from taking it.
thank you for reply will read about it this afternnon. bestregards
