hi Dan, Hate to see you go unanswered, so will try and help a bit. When I had a short synacthen test (not very useful for insufficient adrenals) I was told to stop taking Nutri Adrenal a couple of days before the test by Hospital Endo, but I am afraid I don't know if cream would affect a saliva test or not. I am assuming it would though. I know you also have to stop Nutri Adrenal if you are having a saliva test. Hope someone more knowledgeable can help you. Janet.

Hi Dan,

In my experience YES it can...I paid out a lot of money for the adrenal saliva test and a couple of days before I used a small amount of the 1% cream on an inflamed patch of skin. Anyway did the test and after the results came back the consultant asked if I had used any cortisone even a small amount as it had sent the readings sky high, so the results had to be written off! I think you will need to leave it a good few weeks of not using any creams with cortisone before you do the test so you get a truer reading, as I would hate anyone else to lose out like I did a lot of money wasted and none the wiser. I had the 24 hour urine test done via the NHS but usual results 'normal'! apparently the saliva test is the best one to do and the NHS do not do this test as far as I know, but I am sure someone will speak up if this is not the case...

Good luck

Dee
