Oh yes! The usual story. Do you have latest blood tests with reference ranges and what are your symptoms? If you post here, people can advise and I expect you will find you are low in range and could benefit from an increase. Good luck.
With those symptoms I'd also consider if you might have adrenal involvement. There is a good questionnaire here adrenalfatigue.org/take-the...
In my personal opinion you are clearly hypothyroid. I was horizontal in bed, barely able to stand when my TSH was 5.6. You need to have your FT3 measured otherwise your doctor has no idea if your pituitary is even working well enough to produce enough TSH to stimulate your thyroid correctly. Of course, if your doctor is like most, then s/he simply doesn't have a clue, full stop.
Hi Mandy,
I know what you mean. If you still have symptoms and they "are not thyroid related" then the doctor should find out what is wrong, shouldn't he?? In my daughter's case they told her she had ME (offered her CBT for that which she didn't take up) and depression (gave her pills for that - she threw away the prescription). Don't let them fob you off with these bogus diagnoses just because they haven't got a clue what to do.
We gave up with the NHS after a while because it was more stressful to continue the humiliation and patronisation with the GP than to go it alone ourselves, and I would advise anyone in the same position to do likewise. Good luck with your next GP appointment but don't keep trying to change them - they will not change, and you will be the one to suffer.

p.s. It didn't matter how reasoned and polite we were with whichever GP we saw (with TONS of research information). They' have none of it. It was a hideous experience.
If you or your daughter would like to add her story to my website, please PM me. I'm specifically looking for stories of people who were given a fake diagnosis of ME/CFS/Anything-Else before working out what was really wrong with themselves. I should add that it will be totally anonymous.
Thanks, rosetrees. I could do that, but it will take quite a while to tell the tale. It is a LOOOOONG and complicated story. Is the website up and running yet? Could we take a look? Jane x
I recommend that you get this checked as you can feel symtoms of Hashimotos even while the docs say you are in range....goodluck on your situation and remember you can always ask for a second opinion or change docs if you dont feel listened too as much as youd like...
I see your TSH is a 6 so definately ask for them to test your thyroid antibodies..
I was put on some thyroxine and I was 5.5 at the time so you need something. I am trying something different now tho as maybe I having conversion probs but still you should definately be treated if having hypo symtoms..good luck....reading is good to arm yourself with info so you know what to say at docs.
