Hi
How long have you been on the levo. I had pins and needles in my feet and they eased when I increased to 75mcg of levo.
Also have you had your vitamin B12 checked as if low or deficient this can give you the same symptoms you are describing. Your also need to get iron, ferritin, folate and Vit D tested as people with hypothyroid can be low in these. Ferritin needs to be over 80, and the rest in the top third of the range to make your thyroid meds. work properly.
browny
Hi only been on it 2wks but the last few days its been getting worse also feel really tired more than usual. Not had any of them tests done either just antibodies reason being i was put on levo as they was very high but routine thyroid test in normal range, bloods due in 6 wks. Seems to be spreading into my arms and shoulders.god i hope it goes find it hard to see to my baby .
Hi
I generally feel worse for a few days a couple of weeks after increasing my dose of levo, I think its your system getting adjusted to the meds. Maybe this is what is happening to you. Also it takes around 6 weeks for the dose to peak in your body so it is early yet to feel any benefit.
I have recently read you can be B12 deficient after having a baby so I would ask G.P. to test for this along with the others I mentioned.
Hope this helps.
I felt exactly the same with almost identical symptoms. You can feel worse before you get better and i agree with browny it will take 6 weeks before you will see an improvement. The pins and needles can be caused from vitamin B12 deficiency. It was the pins and needles that sent me to the doctors in the first place when I was first diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.
My pins and needles went away when on optimal medication and with the addition of vitamin B12. When I forget to take the B12 for any length of time the pins and needles return.
Ok thanks i.ve been taking multi vitamins but past few days been hit and miss with them also don.t think they are anywhere near the dose i need to take . But what ever happens doctors monday its driving me crazy had trouble sleeping last night its like little electric shocks going through me. Did u also suffer any vertigo when lying down at all after starting your medication and headaches its a different kind of headache u normally have its like it throbs but also feels like its all foggy its hard to explain.
