A very good article, and when I read it I saw similarities with myself, especially the bit about dizziness, sea sickness, moving objects and vertigo. I've suffered with all of the above most of my life. I went gluten free at the end of October but lapsed a little over Christmas, which brought the old symptoms back. This time I'm more determined than ever to stick to a gluten free diet!

Am going to make a gluten free Christmas cake next year, because eating most of this years my digestion has certainly suffered and find lately that I cannot tolerate milk on oat cereal, feeling nauseous afterwards. Makes me not want to be bothered with food at all. Janet.

Marks and spencer do a lovely Gluten Free Xmas cake, no one even noticed the difference £6.99 , cheaper than the ingredients. Yum!

Really interesting article and gut feeling (!) it makes sense, just bought Practical Paleo - big book, comprehensive explanations of why this diet is good for autoimmune (and lots of other illnesses) recipes look easy... author is Diane Sanfilippo - it is written for US market but I've bought a set of measuring cups which makes it a cinch...

..yes I am a Datis fan and often quote his book - Why Isn't my Brain Working - which he wrote after the Thyroid book. Have only read the brain book where he does mention how gluten molecules can penetrate the blood/brain barrier. I think we have to keep reminding people as it is so easy to forget the many good things mentioned on this forum....I personally do not think it matters how many times this is mentioned. Along with Prof Smith on You Tube talking about low B12 and shrinking brains !

Thank you for your post....

Marz, Dr. Kharrazian is a bright mind in the immunology area although I fear he has spawned a lot of DC's who think that after attending one of his lectures they are now thyroid experts. PR
