diagnosed underactive put on 50mg levo. Came out in a rash and could not stop scratching. gp did not know what to do and told me stop meds?
It's most unlikely you've had a reaction to the active hormone. You may have had a reaction to one of the fillers. Try taking an antihistamine an hour before levothyroxine and see if it makes a difference.
Are you lactose intolerant? Both Actavis and Mercury Pharma list lactose in their fillers. MP also has acacia powder and sodium citrate which aren't included in Actavis. You could request trial of the manufacturer that didn't give you a rash.
