Hi all

Do people usually find that get one of those headaches when they take new thyroid medication or increase their thyroid meds?

Cheers

Hi

My daughter got headaches when she increased her meds, they stopped after a few days

I have read on here that a few people experience this..

Yes, and if dose is too high

I have suffered terrible headaches which increased for several days after any increase in medication. I found they stopped when I reached 3 grains of Armour and are only occasional now.

Yeah I started a new brand of T3 yesterday evening. It's the foreign type. Funny thing is it was 12.5 mcg compared to my usual 20mcg of NHS stuff. Odd. Felt achy, nauseous and one of those behind the eyes headaches :0/

I'm on T3 only and am still tweeking my dose. I'm still waking up with headaches and I'm convinced it is because I run out of T3 during the night, but they (the headaches) aren't as bad as they used to be before I started T3. If I'm late with a dose during the day a headache can start up then too.

Oh so your headaches are because you haven't enough T3?

I believe so.

Have you tried taking it all at bedtime. I do 80mcg of t3 and sleep most nights and keep going all day, well most days.

I have heart problems - mainly a tendency for my heart to go far too fast, and it can happen in minutes and then take hours to slow down even with the help of beta blockers. I have tried taking all my T3 in bigger and fewer doses, but never quite managed to get to the point of taking it all at once. I found my heart rate was much too variable for comfort when I did this, so I now take several smaller doses per day.

No it's not plus its much easier as you never forget a dose. The late Dr Lowe took his t3 like that and he was on a much higher dose than me. It was because of him that I tried it and it works. Well for me anyway.
