Cant help with the question on how well it works though as, unfortunately, like many other NHS doctors my GP refused to presrible this for me on cost issues.
I have been taking tirosint for 3 months in liquid mono dose form and it has changed my life as i never got on well with levothyroxine in tablets (i live in Italy and its called Eutirox tablets). Tirosint does not give me the worst of The side effects of Eutirox . With Eutirox I came down from 100 mcg to under 50mcg to relieve symptoms but if course I was feeling the tiredness coming through etc. Now on tirosint liquid I am back up to a 100 and although it's not 100% to me it's as near as it's ever going to be. ( I've been searching the alternatives for 15 years!!!). Tirosint is IBSA farmaceuticals not sure about availability in uk. I have already written about this in a previous post.
Unfortunately Tirosint is not licensed in the UK. So the only ways of getting it are "named patient basis" on prescription (and the best of luck achieving that - I think it would be very unlikely to get an NHS doctor to do so), or personal import.
