T3 medication. Is there a liquid option.

Hi

Does anyone use a liquid form of T3.

I am thinking about dosing. Instead of cutting pills up into tiny pieces and you never know exactly the quantity you are taking. It would be much easier and more accurate if using a syringe and drawing the correct amount you require. You could draw any amount then to suit your personal needs

I use liquid Levothyroxine and it’s really easy to measure with a syringe

Anyone used liquid T3 ??

I believe there is liquid T3 in Italy, but it's very expensive. I've never heard of it existing anywhere else.

Thanks Greygoose. Just a thought I had.

And a very nice thought it was. It's such a pity that it isn't more freely available, cut out all those nasty fillers you get in pills. But nobody seems inclined to make life easier for hypos. It's as if we're being punished for daring to have the disease.

I agree entirely with your comments.

They tend to make it really hard for thyroid patients I feel. Maybe all the emphasis is on diabetes patients these days.

I think the emphisis will always be on anyone rather than us.

It makes me so angry with Drs at times.

Only at times? Me it's all the time.

At the moment I’m mad as hell with one Dr. He sent me on a wild goose chase to cardiologist and neurologist taking months while I was in a desperate condition. I asked over a year ago for a T3 trial and he refused. A year on I have recently got the T3 which has been amazing for me. I’ve also had the DI02 gene test come back last week as positive. I’ve had Hashimotos for 12 years. Had countless weakness incidents at work and home. Looks like all along I needed T3. The last letter from him was that I needed psychiatric assessment! Shocking. I needed T3 that’s all.

Better calm down again. But he makes me very frustrated.

Liotir is liquid T3 in Italy. It is approximately €13 per bottle. Each ml is 20mcg of T3, and each bottle is 20 ml. You measure by drops and each drop is approximately .7mcg of T3. The package insert tells the exact mcg (I can’t find it). The bottle is to be discarded after 30 days. I take 15mcg a day, so it isn’t too expensive for me. Also, the drops are put into a small amount of water. So if you are away from home and taking multiple doses a day, it can be a problem. It works as well as Mayne T3 tablets ( for me).

Thanks - that is most of the important information. However, it contains alcohol (ethanol) which might be a problem for some.

(Mayne, formerly Perrigo, formerly Paddock, is now branded as Libertas. I know, how can we keep up? :-) )

Yes, it is ethanol based. I did have liquid T4 by Tirosint from Italy which is ethanol based. One night I decided just to squirt the vial into my mouth without the water dilution. Oh my! My mouth and throat were on fire. I only did it once.😄

Your so right hevella . It's really hard to keep up with these changes . Lets hope that the formula stays the same . Many did very well with the original Paddock . It had the least fillers .

Thank you so much for taking time to reply with the details. I was hoping to find the liquid T3 form similar to liquid T4. It’s so much easier and you can be more tailored to your own needs and levels with liquid Levothyroxine. I can take any amount in a syringe. Tablets are more constricting.
