hi all well im back from the docters they still refuse to say its my thyroids .so on nothing again .on the plus they are sending me 4 a emergancy appoitment to have the camera down my throat . not sure if that will show my thyroids !! also they insist my t4 is ok even thoe its showing other wise !! xx

Well, at least you will have something investigated. Are you complaining of a lump in your throat, or is it to investigate your stomach?

It will be interesting to find out their diagnosis.

nope iv not complained of my stomach and yes she felt my throat and said it was swollen hence the camera !!! xx

Just to say that I've had the camera to look at my throat and the procedure is fine; you will have a numbing spray. You do need to have it done but it doesn't show your thyroid, you would need a scan for that. Has a doctor touched your throat to check for swelling? It sounds really obvious but my doc didn't. I think I would go back to your doctor to ask exactly what they are looking for.If you post your blood test results someone may be able to help.

At the time that my throat was looked at I had CFS, yes really (I didn't) and frequent sore throats. The glands in my throat were often swollen. My thyroid results were borderline and I did not think to ask about numbers. I did recover from the CFS but had relapses, so possibly had Hashimotos.This just my story; the camera examination is important if only to rule out other throat problems.

yep that is why im having the camera down my throat is swollen . but like you say it wont show my thyroid so yet another wast of time xx

They will look and see what is causing it and if it doesn't show anything they may hopefully take things further until they find a cause

Have you had an ultrasound done? Of neck, thyroid etc??

No I'm having the camera done on new years eve but at least I can go back after and demand a ultras can xx

Hi there again! I'm glad you're getting this done at least...it will prob show nothing, I know everyone's story is different, so it may?! But some journeys are the same!!! I had this done & was hospitalised 5 times, for dehydration & investigation & surgery to find out why i was sick/throwing up undigested food for over 3 years but still the heaviest I'd ever been!!.. In the meantime, thyroid continually being ignored They removed my gall bladder, appendix & after the camera showed nothing, then sent for barium tests, neither of which showed thyroid anything!! Grrrr I have 26 laparoscopic scars from trying to find out what was wrong with me & ALL bypassed thyroid!! Endos & surgeons still won't admit they missed the obvious! Thyroid. A simple cost effective boring old ultrasound showed nodules causing havoc & once thyroid removed have never been sick once!! Push for ultrasound as after barium & camera showed nothing to do with thyriod i continued to get worse regardless of medication etc they gave me & I was told it was all in my head etc & left without answers - as docs told me there was nothing more they could do for me...it was only a twist of fate that saved me... I had a fall & an ultrasound ordered for my neck which showed nodules! Pusing on esophagus etc but still docs refused to say that scientifically it proved thyroid, but then sent for further testing re thyriod & they were wrong! I can totally understand your frustration & angst but as they rule out stomach things you'll eventually find answers!! Keep in touch would love to know what your tests show!!

Hi all well had the camera down if got some of the results .mild erythematous gastritis. And helicobacter pylori .well I co no 1 is autoimmune disease and the other is to do with yr B 12 so let's see what thy say when I go in a few wks wonder if they will say its nothing to do with thyroids xx
