Hi Jalestar, Sorry you are feeling so bad. It takes a while to find the right dose of Levo and I suspect you are not on a high enough one. Have you had a recent test? Could you obtain a copy and post the results here? Do not believe the doctor or receptionists when they tell you results are fine. Only your body knows whether they are right for you but people can comment when you post them and give you advice. Btw, do put reference ranges, as they all vary. Hope you get help soon. x

I have a great nutrition resource which is a mine of information re our health and how to look after ourselves. It is called THE OPTIMUM NUTRITION BIBLE by Patrick Halford. I am hypothyroid. I was hyperthyroid but had the radio-iodine drink twenty years ago. I find that my health is a constant source of 'work in progress'. The above book gives you a load of vital information re our health. It is not rocket science. Information is power! Good luck!

I had mine removed in Jan and went through the usual periodic increase in doses. Then it was decided that the symptoms were being caused by to much levo. I am now down to a combined pill of 50 T4 and 12.5 T3 daily and I have just a couple of weeks to go before we work out if it needs to come down any further. Feel better on this lower dose. Still some tiredness and aches - but more like myself. Sometimes problems can be too high a dose (even if it seems low compared to others) - it is not always a problem with under-dosing. Also think the addition of the T3 helped get me feeling more like normal!

I have had a TT and was told that the 100mcg I was taking was no where near enough for somebody with no thyroid but as has been said we are all different. I have discovered that you really need to ask for the levels plus ranges and keep a record yourself of your symptoms which correlate with them - good advice I was given from people on this site! As France says T3 can make a difference but an increase in your T4 could make a huge difference.
