Dont know whats wrong with me :(

Hi im 27yrs old, i am currently undergoing investigations and have no answers from doc yet and starting to get worried. I had an mri done today on my liver as had an ultrasound done 2 weeks ago that showed liver was enlarged and had a growth on it, I also have a swollen lymph gland on left side of neck and also have a small pea size lump on right side of neck about half way down. I've had full blood count done, liver and kidney function and an afp test done and they all came back normal, I've lost over 2 stone in 3 months and I have no strength or energy just wondering if this could be any type of cancer even though the bloods that I have had done have came back normal thanks.

Jen, this must be so frightening and you are so young. I don't know that anyone here would be qualified to help unless they have the exact symptoms you do.

I really fear when you say they have said everything is "normal". We have been told that about our thyroid tests as well as other blood tests but they have been far from normal for our condition. I wonder if doctors are really taking the time to study results anymore. Perhaps you could ask them to go over those test results with you. I've found that my own tests have been abnormal and they have ignored them. You are seriously ill and they should accommodate you.

If nothing turns up you might try something unconventional and look for parasites or toxins.

I hope you can find help soon.

Hi, I am new to this group but I have been reading a lot of people's post. I had so much going on with my body and doctors consistently telling me blood test were normal or I was just depressed, etc.. I started researching more and more of my symptoms and found out that I have Candida, which a lot of doctors are not educated on. It is a bacterial infection which can lead to numerous things. You might want to just look this up and see if any of your symptoms are the same. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better.

Has your doctor tested your thyroid gland hormones, to see if they at an optimum level? If not and you are not on any thyroid medication, ask for a Full Thyroid Function Test, i.e. TSH, T4, T3, Free T4,and Free T3, as well as Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. Get a copy from the surgery of your results, with the ranges and post them on a new question. If we are low on any of the above vits/minerals they can cause us problems.

It is a worry for you until you get a proper diagnosis as hypothyroidism can be undiagnosed if doctors don't know much about clinical symptoms.

Many people with hyperthyroidism do lose weight quickly as everything is speeded up with too much thyroid hormones.

I am sorry you are so worried and hope you get a diagnosis soon.

I did ask doc if thyroid levels were ok when getting results of full blood count and she said yes, now have 2 lumps in my neck and a growth on my liver an still have no answers, back at docs tomorrow so will update my post once home.

You must get a copy of your blood test results (you are entitled to them) and post them on here.

Good luck tomorrow.

Hi Heloise,

I'm not a doctor but I'd hazard a guess that If it was something really serious, you would have probably had raised ESRs in your blood results which would have concerned the doctors enough to search for the root cause of the 'inflamation' in your system. It's particularly strange that you have these swellings and yet your bloods are coming back normal.

Try not to worry too much about the 'growth' on your liver - again, if it was serious, it should show up in your bloods, urine tests etc. but it's really important that you continue to investigate and ask questions.

The fact that the swellings appear to be around your glands and lymph nodes may suggest something to do with your body reacting to, struggling to or trying to clear out some sort of toxins from your body. My friend with Coeliacs had similar symptoms so don't give up.

Do you have any other symptoms like digestive problems or urinary/ sweating issues?

Sorry to be so nosey. Just intrigued and hoping to help.

Wishing you the best with your investigations. do let us know how you get on.
