Hi

How long until I feel some benefit? Been taking it for ten days now and feel worse every day. What's going on? On adrenal support (3 months) and nutri thyroid too. All balanced under care of dr p.

I felt better on Nutri Thyroid at 6 x a day. because of trialling t3 (12.5mcg morning and 12.5mcglunch) i have been put down to 2x NT a day inc 4x nutri adrenal extra.

Thought T3 was the active part of hormone?

Thought it was absorbed into your system quickly?

All symptoms back, and had complete mental episode on sun night

So fed up trying to understand this.

..maybe a good idea to ring Dr P's clinic - they are so very helpful.

...sorry this message did not come through to me - ooops ! - nor the one below ! Yes the office number - the lady is brilliant and knows enough about thyroids to be a Practitioner herself. Think you may have phoned now....great....

Hi Cat

Sorry to hear you are feeling worse. It's a minefield isn't it?!

You will get his secretary who will listen to you and what you describe and if she can't help she will speak to Dr P and call you back. I had to do this a few times; sometimes she could help and other times she spoke to Dr P then called me back.

When I first started taking t3 it totally floored me and I was very ill and that was a very tiny amount just over two days. I wasn't taking nutri thyroid but was taking nutri adrenals. In the end Dr P realised as I had been left untreated for so long, my receptors had become very blunted and offline so I had to crush my small amount of t3 between two teaspoons and slowly sip in water during the day as a way of getting some thyroid hormone in me. I did this for quite a while slowly increasing the amount of t3 I added crushed to the water, then when feeling brave enough I started to slowly take in tablet form. At one point I remember feeling so upset with it all and thinking I was never going to be able to take T3 but with Dr P's suggestion of starting t3 by sipping slowly in a glass of water during the day I am getting there. It's a slow journey but I'm doing more than I could before.

T3 is the active hormone and yes it is absorbed quickly but if you are having problems absorbing it then this may be why you are feeling worse or it may be something to do with the combination you are taking. You might actually have to go slower at building up the T3 dose as I know I certainly did.

Best to give his office a call and see what Lynn his secretary says as we all so different!

Good luck, hugs and best wishes for better days

Sorry if I am also being repetitious, cat, but these videos I have been posting make me think that no thyroid hormone is going to be a magic pill without considering all the other hormones. One video talks about the attack on T4 and T3.

I don't know if this one in particular pertains to you but there are 22 others that might.

Thanks guys

heloise - yes seen quite a few of these vids. they are interesting. I am trying to educate as much as I can but difficult when you feel so crap.

Pink & Marz - thanks for giving me the confidence to call office. I just did and she said t3 doesn't agree with everyone and it may have overwhelmed my system, so lay off it for a few days and try again. I said i felt better on Nurtri Thyroid and she said up that to 3 and keep up the Nutri Adrenal extra. I am due to report back by post to him next week so she said tell them how I feel and they will take it from there.

Thanks all

xx
