Glandular free adrenal support.

Hi

Does anyone know of an alternative to taking animal glandulars, I cannot tolerate the Nutri Adrenal Extra Dr Peatfield advised and have given up after 3 months, it just doesn't work. The nutri thyroid product hadn't worked either and I am left feeling worse. I have a conversion problem with T4- T3, Dr P advised trying Cynomel T3 but I am reluctant to start importing medication from the U.S. I spoke with Dr Bond lately who has ordered me progesterone cream as my hormones are out of balance too. She also said Armour Thyroid is best but again it is animal derived and I can't see how it work with a conversion problem. I feel toxic having used Nutri Thyroid and Dr P said it was overloading me with more T4 which I am struggling to convert. Maybe natural progesterone cream along with a natural adrenal product will help as progesterone can rebalance thyroid hormone. I'm just sick of these animal based products and need an slternative. Any ideas anyone?

Have you done the saliva cortisol test? If you are low cortisol, one thing to try is ginseng. It's rarely mentioned, but it worked for me in the days before I knew about thyroid and adrenal stuff and had no idea what was wrong. I now know it raises cortisol. You could also try liquorice, but with caution as it can raise blood pressure.

If you haven't done the saliva cortisol test, order it. I've seen more than one person who has been treated for suspected low cortisol only to make themselves worse because they didn't have low cortisol.

I will PM you.

Hi😄

Thank you so much for your reply and sorry for the delay. I appreciate the caring and supportive community on this forum. I did the cortisol test and it is low after a peak in the morning and it just decreases throughout the day. I can certainly try ginseng as it has to be better than taking animal glands. Is it Siberian ginseng? I heard borage is good but I don't know enough. Thank you

AEK2015, NAX is too strong for some people. Try Nutri Adrenal.

Thanks

I could try that and see how it goes. I am getting this terrible tinnitus at the moment and I think it began when I introduced the nutri thyroid

AEK, stop the Nutri-Thyroid and see whether the tinnitus improves.

I stopped just under a week ago and it's still there argghhh

Hi AEK, I didn't get on with glandulars but pregnenolone has been helpful for me. Have you done any research on pregnenolone?

Hi 😄

Thank you for replying. I haven't tried that is it available by prescription

You can buy it on amazon, I was taking the MRM brand and it definitely helped me with energy levels and enabled me to be able to tolerate thyroid medication, I think you can also get it prescribed if you have a more forward thinking GP. Also, I could be mistaken as my memory is rather poor but I'm sure I've read several times that tinnitus can be a symptom of B12 deficiency. People with low thyroid apparently can also have low B12 along with several other vitamin deficiencies due to digestive and absorption issues.

Thank you Emmajaytee, I'm sorry as I thought I had replied to you. I will try Amazon. I take high strength B12 and folic acid advised by Dr P. He thought Tinnitus was toxicity from nutri thyroid but I've been off it for over a week and it's still there.

Nowt more natural than Nature Thyroid (NDT) glandulars are a test.

I've tried them - Ok but contain no actual hormone (frozen out apparently - usa versions may be different)

I daren't try the NAX - the spec looked too scary for me, just adrenal support as I did not have a confirmed adrenal problem. (as if my GP would twig?)

Nutri-T seemed to perk me up a bit, but without hormone it didn't really work (talking 3-4 years ago - memory is shot!)

Hi

Sparerib😄 thanks for your reply. Do you mean taking a product called nature thyroid? Have you taken Armour , that includes the hormones or would you prefer not to? Sorry if I misunderstood your post, long day. I don't like the idea of taking animal glands or hormones full stop.
