Adrenal saliva test;when best time?

I have taken saliva samples yesterday;but my query is;are they 'valid' to use cos on that day i was particularly exhausted as had bit insomnia the nite before(i mean my health was worse than other days).i need answer soon if poss;as posting samples later..

sorry I did not see this earlier....have you called the company who will test the samples? I'd be inclined to not send them and ask them for a fresh kit to re-do it.....but still ask them if you can?

Oh,ok thanks for reply.i've actually just went ahead n posted them!maybe not best idea(i get stress n impatient;just wanted get it done..hypo madness)It was 'big deal' finding a day that i could be nr the freezer at time of sample taking;so i didnt want go through hassle again.wonder if it still valid or waste money.(cant aford!)i thought it would still show the 'pattern' of levels of hormone..but just realising maybe wasnt g idea.(but have read that its best do it on a stressful day..)oh dear.

Cloud, I did one on a day when I was particularly bad (insomnia, exhausted etc) and the morning cortisol came back very very high. Later I found out that I should have done it on a more stable day or when you established a stable pattern, it was a waste of money for me.

I'd imagine it's a pretty common sense deal C - that if you want to know your adrenal status on a normal day then choose one to take the samples on. Or not as the case may be.

If something comes up during the day you started sampling it seems from the Genova instructions that it's perfectly in order to rinse out the sample tubes using tap water and to start again on another day.

In the broader sense of the question it may also be relevant to take samples during the night if e.g. sleep disturbances/bad sleep are issues. Did i hear that it's possible to request extra sample tubes from Genova to permit this?
