HOPE FOR HASHIMOTOS......

I have been without internet for almost two weeks and have done lots of reading instead ! Have read the above mentioned book by Dr Alexander Haskell and found the explanations and healing protocols very good. I have also read - Hashimotos Thyroiditis....Lifestyle Interventions for Finding and Treating the Root Cause - by Izabella Wentz - a sufferer and also a Pharmacist.

Both books explain the way that auto-immune illness causes problems with the thyroid and how to look at Hashimotos as an auto-immune problem rather than a thyroid one. Something I have mentioned from time to time in various posts. I think the mental shift is helpful too.....

The healing - for those that wish to be well - is a strict protocol and probably a bumpy road. I do encourage anyone with Hashimotos to read these books and feel empowered by the information within. Wellness is not an easily attained gift and so many aspects of lifestyle need to be addressed. Go for the 80/20 approach and things will not be so harsh !! As Hippocrates said - Let food be your medicine.....

Izabella also has a website thyroidlifestyle.com

I know books by Docs can be difficult when they are promoting themselves....I didn't get that impression with these books - we need detailed explanations of Hashimotos to help our understanding. Dr Haskell has also compiled a 115 page pdf document detailing all the medical abstracts from the medical research journals and medical texts that were used in the book. It may be helpful for anyone wishing to inform their doctors as it was intended for Physicians. You just need to submit your request to advancingcare@gmail.com

Also problems with mould have been addressed - and this has been well highlighted by JaneB of late - so another plus.

Wishing you all well and lets hope we can soon say we all have our Hashimotos under control......

Hello everyone! Happy to join this group! I'd like to ask a question about Hope for Hasimoto's book. I started following this protocol and had a great improvement Tsh lowered as well as antibodies after only a month . Next month I repeated my labs and the surprise was aughfull: my Tsh had mildly risen ( from 2.7 to 3.7) and my TPO antibodies had risen from 90 to 400. I don't know what to do now, if continue to do the same or start taking Lugol even though my antibodies are rocketsky, just to try if that makes the difference. I know Hope for Hashimoto tells not to do so until antibodies are normal range, but I've also read that selenium and iodine must be in balance and if not antibodies can rise. Please anyone could share knoweledge and experience? Thanks a lot
