I was given some advise when I last picked up my medication that I should take my thyroxine at least a half an hour before any other medication or having anything to eat, as this will help with the absortion of the Thyroxine.....Have any others out there ever been told this.
I have been on thyroxine for at least 12 years but had never been told this before....interested to see what others of you have been told....?

Yes, your chemist is right. If taking it in the morning, before breakfast with a full glass of water, and wait half to 1 hour before eating. Take any supplements 4 hours afterwards as they could interfere with the uptake of thyroxine.
Some are taking their meds at bedtime and if you decide to do this, you shouldn't eat anything for two hours before meds and only drink water.
As your reccommendation: Prescibed, morning, once a day. Other related - VIT D and POTASSIUM - as prescribed once a week. Also prescribed as athlete and vegetarian - Vit B 12 once a day.
I take my T4 at night just as I am going to bed. I initially changed from the morning because many find that night time dosing is better. I can't say that I have found any different for me but the advantage of night is that you are free to take your supplement next morning with no fear of supplements getting in the way.
