im on 10mg propranolol its a beta blocker but im on nothing for thyroid as yet. waiting to see dr late on today. Ive been feeling awful the past 6 months. dizziness and awful anxiety and wondering if it could be related. i dont really have symptoms of underactive it would be symptoms of overactive. ive lost alot of weight and cant put it back on and im not tired or anything. im all new to this so i dont know whats going on :S

A T4 of 10.1 is low but I'm afraid I don't know what that means in an overactive thyroid patient as I am underactive.

I take it your GP is doing thyroid tests today yes?

When I was first diagnosed as being hyper my FT4 was 38.5. (10.0 - 19.8), after a month on Carbimazole it went down to 15.6. (10.0 - 19.8), it went down to 10.2 in February then I started on levo (50mcg) and it was 13.6 in March and last month after more levo 75 (75mcg) it was 15.4. I was cold and am now alternating between 75/100 daily.

Not sure if that is any help to anyone - me included!

I hope that he has told you to go back for more bloods in 5 or 6 weeks to see if you need more thyroxine. Plus get a copy of all your blood results. Don't let them tell that they are normal.

he said to check them every three months as the levels tend to go up and down in the beginning. he said my t4 level was staying low yet onelevel was raising which is the one in the brain thats working rly hard to keep my t4 stable. its all new to me i just want to no is it the reason why i woke in january with a stomach bug which left me with awful dizziness ever since :(

Once you are on medication it is pretty usual to check bloods every 5 to 6 weeks. 12 weeks is FAR too long. Plus 25 is a very low dose to start with and to stay on for so long. Your t4 is far too low.

Hi I meant to say that when you start medication the levels don't go up and down.
