Hello. Is there someone who could help me with the above condition. I've had pretty bad hypo symptoms for most of this year: Debilitating Fatigue. Coldness. Head and Body hair loss. Morning headache. Nausea. Struggling memory and foggy headed.
I've got Stage 3b CKD plus am pre diabetic
TSH T4 T3 - all within range. So both GP and Endo said No to T4 and
" you're 66 it's called aging. Get used to it!"
So I got private tests including RT3 with Medichecks which gave me a result TSH T4 T3 within range BUT low Rt3/T3 ratio.
I've now got an appointment on Mon to see the Endo at Kingston Hospital for a second opinion (NHS) but I'm not sure what I need and what to ask for
From my muddled-thinking research I think I need T3 because "the T3 is not getting into my cells" So that means I'm not converting??
Any thoughts gratefully received. Thank you

For thyroid hormone to work (that's our own as well as replacement hormone) ferritin needs to be at least 70, preferably half way through range. You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/in...
Folate 37.22 nmol/L (8.83-60.8)
This is good. Should be at least half way through it's range, so it's comfortably there.
Vit B12 1449 ng/L (187-883)
Are you supplementing?
Vit D (25 OH) 85
The Vit D Council recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L so you might want to think about supplementing D3 together with it's important cofactors vitamindcouncil.org/about-v... in particular K2-MK7 and magnesium, particularly during the winter months when we can't make D3 naturally from the sun and our bodies use our stored D3.
I commented on your other thread about your thyroid results.
Thank you. I thought as my vit B 12 is always high I should stop eating get liver and red meat. Neither I nor my doctor know why i have high Vit B12 as I don't supplement. However this week I started taking Ferrous Fumarate
