Substernal goiter. Had a ct scan last week for a suspected substernal goiter, has anyone had any experience of surgery for one

my brother had surgery to remove his a few weeks ago it was a bit hairy for him because it was so large and was only found by accident but he's OK now

Did they have to split the breastbone, hope he is doing ok now

did your brother have to have his thyroid removed too as i have a goiter 1cm have over active thyroid and having surgery to remove all my thyroid in September which not happy about thought i could have just had lump removed

Hi i will be having total thyroid removed and all the multinodular goiter and if it is diagnosed the substernal goiter mine is also overactive thyroid but i have no symtoms what medication and how long have you been taking it
