Hi, does any know why my doctor would order a liver function test without mentioning it to me or being asked by me??

It's a fairly routine test, vit d and liver function are connected.

Thanks, very interesting re. connection between vit d and liver function. When I had hepititis I felt exhausted so low vit d. could cause tiredness which is not neccesarily thyroid related.

Vit d deficiency most definitely does cause tiredness along with a host of other symptoms.

Any decent Gp should check liver function when any medication prescribed long term and in fact some medications are recommended test before use and then 3 months after starting using.
