ACTH TEST

Am to have an ACTH test shortly but I have been using a 1% hydrocortisol cream for the past 5 days. Just wondered if this wd effect the results as I know that it is advised to leave a couple of wks after use before taking the saliva cortisol test. Also endo just said to have test in the morning but when I looked test up on Google guidance was to have test as early as pos and fast for 8 hrs. Any advice?

Hi Caze, Other steroid meds can interfere so it may be a good idea to ask your GP or endo what to do. The info I have is that the test is best performed early morning. This NHS Trust has info: southend.nhs.uk/pathology-h...
