Hi It can be, what dose? often thyroid worse before improves. However, still possible to react badly to any drug. I would half my dose, or if tiny, every other day, for a week or two, then see if you can go back to the prescribed dose.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi I think I would try and tolerate that dose, for now, it may be just that your body is adjusting It is a very low dose, but you could go lower, or alternate the days.

It does take a long time, but in the end you will feel better.

Hi again, read my original answer now!! You will need re tests about every 6 weeks and alterations in Levo, , then possibly the addition if some T3, after FT3 blood test. This is the best way ie slowly, but will be a while before you feel better.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi, I am only just over a month on levo, first tablet at 25 mcg was strong enough to make me feel even more tired, had a couple of episodes of dizzy, spine felt taught, legs felt heavy, the spine eased but I have been more tired on it than off, moved to 50mcg and also moved to another brand, which definitely made me feel wonky, all day and night, just pottering round the house. I am literally a bad case though, had very high TSH >100. The 50mcg of Actavis is the one making me wonky, I feel and I have only been on that a week. I also wasn't sure if I was feeling a bit nauseous on it, not quite, but in waves, actavis also seems to affect appetite, I don't feel hungry on that, but when I was on Wockhardt (first brand) it seemed to make me hungry several times a day. So by not feeling hungry, I think that if I let too long pass, that might be what was making me feel queasy, however I also seem to not want anything too fatty, not that I go for very fatty food, just normal. I understand changing brand causes probs, but my first brand do only do 25mcg.

I hope this helps a bit, I am not your best person to ask mind :)

Hi

I had this exact same problem when I started. The first few days I had to lie down for the first few hours after taking the tablet, heart was racing, felt really dizzy etc. Also lost half a stone! It calmed down compeltely after a couple of weeks and now I take it and feel fine. You're probably just adjusting to the meds so I'd perservere but go back to the doctor if it doesn't get better soon
