Tell me! I started off taking pictures of it on my iPad but have now gone on to 'collect' it from the plug hole. I'm thinking of taking it with me in little bags on my next visit to the endo / GP / hairdresser and the first person who says 'oh it isn't bad' I will produce my samples.

I have also started to find it on my clothes and worse, in my food. It is long so I figure it is coming out from the roots rather than breaking off. When I wash my hair I have to rinse my hands and flick all the hair off them. Yuk!

It started off getting very greasy, now it feels like straw. Basically, I try to touch it as little as possible.

Last time I went to the hairdresser my hairdresser said it was one and if he had felt it was awful thin etc he would say so, but I noticed his hands were covered in my hair he just hadn't removed it in front of me.

I feel like a moulting dog :-)

Better to see a doctor as this is one of the many symptoms of thyroid, but then again it could just be something simple like hormones. I would see a doctor as exactly the same thing happened to me.

Aha - I figured hh46 was talking about thyroid hair loss.

I should have said that I have got Graves and have been being treated with carbimazole & levothyroxine since November / December last year.

I have Graves. When I was treated with carbimazole had same problem with my hair falling out in handfalls. Endo said it was overactive thyroid that caused the hair loss not carbimazole, but when I stopped taking carbimazole and switched to propylthiouracil (ptu) (due to lowered immune problems)my hair stopped falling out. When you check out info on carbimazole and ptu they both list hair loss and greying as potential side effects. My hair has now grown back. although still finer and now curly when previously it was straight! With a decent cut looks OK. Frizz Ease secret agent perfecting cream helps with straw texture I am still using frizz-ease because it makes my hair look much healthier. I hope you manage to find a solution.

Ummm... thyroid is hormones... Or were you thinking of some other sort of hormones? Like testosterone, perhaps? Not exactly simple to my way of thinking. Or perhpas you meant vitamins, not hormones?

Sorry I meant vitamins, thank you for pointing it out.
