My temp really low on waking and increases as day goes on. Usually highest 4/5 p.m.

Will and should this level out on Thyroid meds to same temp throughout day?

Roughly how long does it take to get to that point

You wouldn't have a constant temp all day, it is normal for your temp to be low first thing as you have been resting, as the day goes on temp will rise and fall according to what you are doing and the outside temperature. What you are experiencing is perfectly normal.

Your temperature is lower first thing -however it should fall within the range of the norm. Measuring your temperature first thing before getting up is a measurement that Dr Peatfield advises -this gives your basal temperature -that is the temperature your body is before you move eat etc.. Dr Peatfield uses this measurement as one of many to assess whether yo uar hypothyroid and or under medicated.. Once you get up your temperature will rise with activity -that is true. Also people's temperatures naturally tend to go down little bit in the late evening -as you're temperature does fall lower during sleep.

When you say low -how low do you mean? Have you tried taking your temperature at set times during the day and keeping a log? say first thing in the morning lunchtime and late afternoon? The other thing is are you using a digital thermometer or a mercury one -there is a difference.

Lastly when you have taken your temperature are you also taking your pulse & keeping a record of symptoms ( the degree -many people use a 1-10 rating system to make this easier to record and review) & a record of what you are taking in meds, vitamins and minerals.

Oh -and as you get to optimal treatment with your meds AND vitamins and minerals your temperature in the morning will rise -however your temperature will still fluctuate during the day -depending on your activity level what you are doing ( outside in freezing weather) BUT your temperature should fluctuate within the normal range. hope this makes sense!

I believe Dr P says that some peoples temperatures never rise completely back to normal.

To all that answard my Question Thank you.

I am bed bound - so little activity!

Waking temp 35.4 - 36.3 varies. What should it be ideally? 36.5? Rising to 37.0 4/5 p.m.

My daily average is fine. Using digital mouth, & mercury under arm.

My adrenals low on waking, elevating noon - mid afternoon, lowering at bedtime, Daily Cortisol just over upper range, has anyone experienced this or knows what to do about it?

Taking Armour 1/4 grain 6.30 a.m. & again 9.30 a.m. Tried adding a 2.30 p.m. but felt lousy ( maybe due Adrenals elevated ). How long does effect T3 last after taking?

Not what you're looking for?
