Levothyroxine, Ciprofloxacin and acidophilus?

Hi, I'm on Levo but have a urine infection so taking Ciprofloxacin antibiotics. Is it ok to take acidophilus to help my chances of reducing getting thrush?

Hi, I am on armour (recently) so obviously not levo , but I am a frequent sufferer of urine infections. I have prophylactic antibiotics and have recently just finished a two week course. All the while I have been taking pro biotics, I have taken them for at least six months daily and there have been no adverse effects. Not the same re thyroid meds as you, but just wanted to say acidophilus caused me no probs

I'm on armour and had antibiotics a few times last winter and now take acidophilus with no ill effect.

My mother was recently in hospital - they had notices all over the places saying that all patients on antibiotics should be given two dollops of Yakult every day.

(There was an exception of some sort- but cannot now remember what it was.)

So it does appear to be the sort of thing that is being used.

(I would not take Ciprofloxacin again. Seemed OK then it had some odd effects on my mind! Luckily that was end of course. But did not like what I felt.)

It looks like those of us taking Levothyroxine should be wary of taking Ciprofloxacin
