What’s the reason for Lansoprazole
PPI is to treat high acid
Frequently when under medicated/poor conversion we develop low stomach acid and acid reflux
You’re previous post shows low Ft3
If you absolutely must take ppi it should be as far away from levothyroxine as possible

Thanks SlowDragon! It’s been an ongoing issue my GP thinks I have Poly Myalgia and prescribed steroids? My blood tests have all been clear I am seeing rheumatologist next week but gp prescribed the lansaprozle ‘ to protect my stomach from steroids’
I havnt had any stomach issues I might not take them until I see consultant
Thanks again
The following link might be informative and I wouldn't be surprised if you had hypothyroidism. Some modern doctors seem to not know much about the clinical symptoms of hypothyroidism.:
Excerpt:
Abstract
The prevalence of thyroid disease and thyroid autoantibodies was evaluated in 367 patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and/or giant cell arteritis (GCA). Thirty-seven patients had antibodies to thyroid microsomes or thyroglobulin; 18 had hypothyroidism requiring thyroxine replacement therapy. The prevalence of hypothyroidism (4.9%) was significantly greater than that found in 84 control subjects."

A Full Thyroid Blood test would be on a fasting stomach - although you could drink water. Don't take medications until afterwards:-
TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and antibodies.
Blood draw should be the earliest possible blood draw (a fasting one). you can drink water.
Thanks I’ll have a read funnily enough it was hypo symptoms I initially went to gp with and everything just went heywire !
Which steroids
Steroids will often significantly lower TSH

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
So GP must not adjust dose levothyroxine by TSH
Essential to always test Ft4, Ft3,
Also TPO and TG antibodies
You will have to test antibodies privately…NHS refuses to test TG antibodies unless TPO antibodies are high
Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 once a year
all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Have you had ultrasound scan of thyroid done
If not request GP organise
Thanks I have had private bloods done and only thing that was over range was thyroglobulin antibodies? But I was so overwhelmed with all the other things my gp was going on about I put it on the back burner ? The way I read it was because I have thyroid prob this wasn’t unusual
So high thyroid antibodies confirms autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s…..
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/303...
Elevated TgAb levels are associated with symptom burden in HT patients, suggesting a role of thyroid autoimmunity in clinical manifestations of HT. Based on these results, we recommend screening for TgAb antibodies in HT patients with symptom burden.
Think your GP is barking up the wrong tree - you already know you have hypothyroid and just like over 90% of primary hypothyroid patients…..high thyroid antibodies confirms cause is autoimmune thyroid disease
Most thyroid patients don’t need steroids prescribed
