When Big Pharma found out how to synthesize thyroxine as Levothyroxine, they had to prove that it worked. So they turned their attention to the TSH test and worked hard to make it more 'accurate' (for accurate read convincing). Now we are told that Levothyroxine is working, the TSH says so. Anything else is either CFS or Fibromyalgia or all in the mind.
Now, Bayer, who have been in the firing line for making nicotine-based pesticides which are killing off bee populations, has struck back yet again. They have discovered a new illness which bees suffer from. It's called CCS, or 'Colony Collapse Syndrome'.
So the next time you see a bee in the doctor's waiting room complaining that she (yes, they are mostly female - what can I say) is being poisoned by pesticides, you know what the doctor is going to say: "It's all in your mind. You've got CCS".

By co-incidence I was watching the vanishing of the bees & stuff on youtube yesterday - and they do vanish - as they lose their memory and forget how to get back to the hive (apparently if they're ill they fly away to die anyway) their stomach/digestive systems are destroyed too - can't remember the other 2 things that go wrong - but all sounded too familiar We used to have bees and I helped Dad with the honey..... Yes, but my eldest is only 9 so I really do hope it's a good few years!
My friend keeps bees on her allotment. She had to get special permission from the council but she had the backing of all the other allotment owners They are truly fascinating creatures (the bees, not the allotment owners).
There has been a vote in the EU parliament, in support of a ban. Horrifyingly, the UK voted AGAINST a ban. Even though millions are in favour. If you look on here:
Avaaz, too have huge numbers of signatures. Some, it seems, DO listen.
Not that his government cares, any more than they care about the sick and the disabled. I suspect that better treatment of thyroid disease, too, will come from elsewhere, not from England.
I keep bees. Please do not use the "growsure" seeds as they have this nicotine coating, I beeleive!
Of course, it would depend on the age of the bee. A young bee would be diagnosed with "womens trouble", a bit older would be diagnosed with "menopause" and a bit older still would be thrown on the heap as too old to bother with!
I am glad I am not a queen bee - she only mates once in her life!
Bee sure, I try to keep everything as natural as possible. Thanks for the pointer, though, I might not have realised.
I have always had a yearning to keep bees, but I never really had the opportunity. Now I live in the food-growing area of Lincolnshire and I suspect the bees are not having a very good time here from what I have heard.
So when a woman is described as a 'queen bee' it's not exactly flattering to her....
I used to use this for my lawns and bought a few mags of the multiple flower seeds. They package their products to bee very attractive to buyers. This is a real eye opener. As much as I dislike lavender I was going to grow some and other bee attracting flowers. My garden is mainly concrete now but I have made flower boxes for the front ‘garden’ and have permission from the local council to tend to a 10 x 2 meter piece of land. So I may cut back the shrubs and plant more bee feeding materials. Amazing what is shared on this forum. Ebony
