Beware! High Fructose Corn Syrup

Whilst in USA recently, my IBS flared up and I suffered pain for the whole trip until I realised that nearly everythibg I ate contained high fructose corn syrup, even the bread. I ended up purchasing all my food from Whole Foods, very expensive, but enabled my systmen to regain some balance. High fructose corn syrup is widely used in USA and a known trigger for some IBS sufferers. Just wanted to warn anyone else who may be unused to the diet in USA.

HFCS is a HUGE trigger for many, many people, myself included. I avoid it at all costs. According to the FODMAP experts, just plain "corn syrup" does not have the same negative impact. I'm not so sure about that, based on my experience, but the high fructose corn syrup is definitely poison!
