Hello I was diagnosed with IBS officially at the beginning of this month so I am pretty new to this. I’m currently at the stage where I’m testing what foods cause my episodes. I can’t seem to eat bananas or strawberries without my symptoms flaring up, has anyone else experienced this as when reading about it IBS it says that these fruits are good as they are low in fructose. Any answers will be much appreciated thank you !!

Bananas and strawberries causing IBS Flare-ups.
As the old saying goes "one man's meat is another's poison. With me I can eat some strawbs but I steer clear of bananas as they give me indigestion. Everyone is different.
Im ok with Banana but not for strawberries 😫
Good morning. I am ok with bananas that are not too ripe and I eat 2 a day, which I was advised to by my Gastro. I can only manage 2 strawberries, otherwise I do suffer. Xx
I'm fine with strawberries, but can't manage too many bananas, particularly if they are overripe. According to the Monash FODMAP app bananas are high in fructans once they start to ripen.
Thank you everyone for your answers !!! 😌
What causes IBS flare ups are as individual as we are. My Mum had IBS as I do. Our IBS flare ups shared no common triggers. I find my tigers change with no rhythm or reason. It took 18 months of tests and experimation with a cocktail of medication to gain some management of my IBS. No definitive triggers or reasons were identified.
