hi so Ibs diverticulitis and been df and gf for years as they said might help tho have lactose free stuff . Had the dreaded flu/ cold two months ago and feel it’s still not gone as in snot and scabs in nose . Sometimes dry cough . Had a horrendous cold sore that has left a lovely pink mark between lip and nose ( any suggestions?)

Re the snot sinus stuff I’m thinking is it hay fever? It can’t still be the cold .

so question is what can I take and when . I do t want drowsy as live on 4 hrs sleep and would fall asleep at work lol there seems to be lots of various ingredients in them

Prob a generic cheap one ? Always nervous of tabs with stomach lol

As another question ( sorry!) anyone been df gf for years and how would you start to see if u can eat other stuff

Thanks xxx

You should see a doctor.

If it's hay fever the snot would be clear. If you take the hay fever tablets at night your more likely to get a good night's sleep. So killing two birds with one stone.

I am really struggling with hayfever tabs. I've taken Fexofenadine for 5 years with few problems. This year, they made me feel dreadful and so I've been swapped to desloratadine - these are giving me bad dreams, poor sleep and diahrroea. I'd be interested to know how others find antihistamines with IBS because Googling tells me they can improve IBS - my experience is quite the opposite.

Oddly, if any of your food sensitivities are to do with histamine intolerance, hay fever tablets might even cause some improvement in symptoms! It's amazing how histamine intolerance (which definitely can cause bowel symptoms) can slip under the radar for a long time.

Interesting thanks! It’s just which one to take , like with my dog he only can have piriton ( vets recommended)

I'm gf and df and suffering with hay fever at the moment. I take loratadine (1 a day) and this seems to relieve the symptoms most of the time . I used to take Benadryl, which worked really well, but is not considered to be safe if you are over 60. I hope this helps.

Both of those are non drowsy. I take mine first thing in the morning and it seems to last most of the day.
