Mini-go Irrigation

Hi fellow sufferers, has anyone any experience of the Mini-go Irrigation device please? It is a small hand held device with replaceable cones. The hospital has given me a kit to try, but I am having great difficulty in using it correctly and that causes even more stress. I have IBS C of many years standing, but for the past year much worse bloating and extreme pain. I would be grateful to hear of others experience with this device and any helpful tips.Thank you.Ros.

hi Gardener. I was given the mini- go by my pelvic physio. Tbh I couldn’t get on with it, couldn’t close it! So I bought an anal irrigation bulb from Amazon… it’s good as you can fill it up by squeezing it and suction does the rest. I fill a litre jug of warm water and usually use about 500mls.

I also take sennacot nightly as if I didn’t I get very constipated. I use glycerin suppositories also. I have a dysfunction bowel from years of taking opioids ( codeine) for severe neck problems ( had x3 surgeries) and now have developed a lumbar scoliosis. I take oramorph when I’m desperate, I actually find that less constipating than codeine. The Gp is trying to get me off it but I can’t move some days as the back pain is so awful.

Have a look on amazon, it’s blue with a white nozzle.

Wishing you all the best.

Thank you so much for your reply and all the information. Firstly I am so very sorry to read of all your troubles and struggles. It’s just not fair is it, to have so much to cope with. I sincerely hope your pain and difficulties will ease for you soon. It’s horrible trying to use the irrigation device, seems so unnatural, but years of IBS problems have weakened my muscles. It’s interesting that you get on better with the Amazon bulb and I’m wondering about trying Mag07 as suggested in a reply. I suffer severe bloating which is causing very bad pain in my abdomen and hips. I have to report back to the hospital soon, so feel I must try the mini go for a bit longer. Wishing you well. Ros x
